At the age of 92, Dr Abram Hoffer passed away on May 27, 2009. In his quiet way, he changed the world. There are many articles about Abram in recent news, and follow this link to one of them:

I have so many memories of Abram, but one of the more recent is a time we shared in Ottawa. We were both presenting on Bill C420, and he preceded me. For a man who was in his mid 80's at the time, I remember being amazed by how sharp he was, and also how gracious. He spoke softly, but everyone listening heard every word.
Another memory is a more recent visit to enjoy lunch with Francis and himself in October, 2007. He was sporting a walking meter on his belt - that's not the name - which monitored his steps. He said that 'well, my personal trainer (!) says that I'm not walking enough, so this motivates me to walk more.'
It was a pleasure to have these memories of him, and know that in addition to the vitally important work that he did with the Canadian Schizophrenia Foundation, and the International Society of Orthomolecular Medicine, he was always a supporter of Health Action Network Society as well. This is a long time member that we will miss...
and again...
