We'll find better pictures of Debby, but here's a temp...

There once was a beautiful soul called Debby, who dragged her young son into the HANS office month after month after month, for the purpose of cataloguing all the health books that HANS was acquiring from its members & friends. From what I hear, that drove her husband a little up the wall, considering that it meant boxes of books on their dining room table, and UNDER it, on a frequent basis.

Debby had a masters in Library Science, and her young son, Graham. Well, he was self-taught brilliant, from the beginning, and there isn't much that he can't answer in a technical way. So Debby set up the library, with Graham's help, created a library system, and the HANS Library became a bona-fide, albeit small, health Library.

Debby passed away on June 8, 2004, unexpectedly, completely out of the blue, and far too early for all of us who had come to love her. It seems only fitting that this Library be called the Debby Boyes Library, so that we will always remember the reasons that Debby worked so hard to make it tangible and helpful for fellow health travellers.

Following Debby's death, and after receiving a letter from myself, her husband Bayne, very kindly offered to volunteer at HANS. He was an enormous help to the organization, and HANS will always be grateful. Graham continues to work on HANS many programs, and we are also very grateful.

There are much better pictures of Debby, and when we get them, we will post them.

A loving good-bye to Debby

The following is an obituary to Debby, submitted by Bayne, but it is particularly loving.

Debby Boyes June 22, 1948 - June 8, 2004 Debby, my best friend and wife of
40 years and a remarkable mother to Graham-we miss you more than anyone
could ever know. We think about you every day. You gave your love and tender
care to Graham and myself and spent your life helping others. But for
medical incompetence, you should be with us today. You believed there is a
purpose to everything. We are spending our energy every day with HANS to
effect change in individual health and are working with a group of medical
practitioners to introduce a health model of prevention and equal access to
all conventional and alternative practitioners. We love you, Bayne and
Graham.
